Why do I need a Help to Buy valuation?
When you purchase a home under the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, you are effectively entering into a contract with Target HCA who own a percentage of your home.
To ensure you’re paying a fair market rate, a Chartered Surveyor will inspect your property and, with their knowledge of the local housing market, will ensure your updated valuation sent to Target HCA is accurate. This means when you come to sell, remortgage or release more equity, you will pay back the updated current value of the equity percentage.
How do you make a Help to Buy valuation?
One of our local Chartered Surveyors will visit your home to carry out an inspection of the property. Our RICS Registered Surveyor will look into every detail of your property, taking into account the local housing market.
Take note that your valuation will only be valid for 3 months, which is why it’s important to send your report to Target HCA as soon as possible. It is then in Target HCA’s hands to calculate the value of your loan and give you an accurate repayment figure.
